ABOUT US

The History of PJD Mechanical

What is now today known as PJD Mechanical, originally started as The Palace Garage and Machine Shop in 1938 owned and operated by Irenee Joseph Droux. Prior to this Irenee purchased a black smith shop from Alex Scott in 1915. Later Pete Droux rented the business from his dad (Irenee) from 1952-1957. When Irenee decided to retire he sold the business. Pete continued to work hard and started his own business in 1958, known as the Massey Harris Shop (located at a different location than business is now located). He later built his own shop in 1965, on a piece of property on the North end of Manitou which was referred to as the “Village-owned Pasture Land.” This is where what majority of people came to know the business as PJ Droux Garage. During this time Pete’s son Harry Brendle began working at the business, later taking over the business upon Pete’s passing. In January of 2015 Harry sold the business to close family friends Devin and Billy Boulton.

Over the years this company has seen its fair share of a variety of trades, mainly specializing in welding, machining and aggregates. The current day operation as a heavy duty diesel repair shop, specializes in Commercial Vehicle Safety Inspections and HD Truck Repairs also providing numerous other services.
